Conwy Town
Castleview offers a perfect setting to explore the beautiful Snowdonia National Park and Coast. There are excellent coastal and mountain walks from the Cottage door, including direct access to the stunning North Wales Coastal Path where you will see the famous wild ponies on Conwy mountain.
A short journey in any direction will take you to some of the most beautiful scenery to be found in the UK. Mountain ranges, pictureque villages, woodland and beautiful beaches are all on the doorstep. The National Park is just a 3 mile drive away through the idyllic Sychnant Pass.
The Medieval coastal town itself has an amazing number of heritage sites to explore including the dramatic Castle built by Edward I, the National Trust's 14th century Aberconwy House, Elizabethan Plas Mawr town house, Telford's suspension bridge and on a completely different scale, Britain's smallest house on the harbour quay.
There is a long established and vibrant artist's community with a number of specialist craft studios, galleries and the Royal Cambrian Academy of Art holds regular exhibitions.
Conwy is host to a number of regular Events held throughout the year including the popular River Festival, historic Honey Fair, Conwy Food Feast and the Bluegrass Festival.
The Victorian seaside town of Llandudno can be reached by regular bus service or a short drive and offers a magnificant promenade and beaches, pier, donkey rides, dry ski slope, copper mines and a historic tramway.
Ideal for non-drivers, Conwy offers excellent public transport links and the scenic Conwy Valley railway line runs along the River Conwy up into Snowdonia National Park. The train station is just a 2 minute walk from Castleview Cottage.
Regular open top bus tours link Conwy to Llandudno, and there is a river taxi service available in the summer months.
