Conwy

Conwy (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) is an ideal base for exploring the beaches and dramatic mountains of North Wales. There is also plenty to do within the medieval Town, from exploring the Town Walls and narrow cobbled streets, to visiting some of the lovely shops, tea rooms and restaurants, or taking in a sight-seeing boat trip on the river.

Conwy is a good location for non-drivers, with excellent public transport facilities and a direct rail link from London Euston.

The breathtaking Conwy Castle, built by Edward 1 in 1289, the National Trust's Aberconwy House, the Elizabethan Plas Mawr town house, and the smallest house in Britain are all a few minutes walk away. The Royal Cambrian Art Gallery and Conwy Butterfly Jungle are also worth a visit.

The town is located on the edge of Snowdonia National Park, providing an ideal base to explore the regions magnificent mountains, beaches and other attractions. A few minutes drive in any direction will take you to some of the most stunning scenery to be found in the UK. There are a number a walks directly accessed from the Cottage door, including Conwy mountain, the North Wales Path, and the Pensychnant Upland Walk. There are a number of wide, sandy beaches nearby and a newly built Marina with a popular pub/restaurant (10 minute walk).

A leisure centre, multiplex cinema and 24 hour supermarket is approximately 5 mins drive away. Bodlondeb park, with lovely walks, playgrounds and tennis courts (free) is located within 100 yards of the cottage.

Further afield, the elegant seaside town of Llandudno (4 miles) offers a delightful promenade and beaches, Victorian pier, donkey rides, dry ski slope, toboggan run, copper mines, tram rides and cable car.
